Friday, August 6th, 2010 from 9:00 – 12:00 Coffee and bagels will be provided.
Colorado School of Mines 1650 Arapahoe St. Golden, CO – Building #15, CTLM Room 102
I’ve attached a map – CTLM is #15 – at the right side of the page distanced from the parking legend by the CTLM parking lot. This lot or lots I or J are where people should park. And, since school is not in session on the day of our meeting, parking shouldn’t be a problem. Parking permit attached.
Room 102 is on the first floor in the northwest corner of the building.
Topics in sequential order:
1. Customer Tips & Tricks – In this session a variety of users will present tips and tricks related to Cognos that they have found useful in their implementation.
a. Justin Becher, Sunrise Medical – “This technique allows you to make a single report produce either detail or just summary results in a Report Studio List. Used with conditional variables, users can easily change output to the desired level of detail.”
b. Carrie Duran, University of Denver – “This session will cover a trick for rendering graphics based on data conditions using conditional blocks in a report that has been well received by end users.”
c. Data Analysis Group, CO Dept. HCPF – “This presentation for report Studio will cover passing prompt criteria between queries, displaying prompt values on a report page and creating multiple page & multiple query reports.”
2. Metadata Modeling – Framework Manager and Transformer Modeling will be reviewed and led by Infolink Consulting.
3. Discuss topics for next meeting (Cognos customer presentations(s) and/or consultant presentations), location and timing of next quarter’s meeting. We’ll plan to discuss the “Business / End User Group” addition that we originally discussed in April as well.
